Muskies crush Crusaders
Athletics - posted on 11/30/2010
Bobby Komorowski scored a game-high 23 points to lead the Lakeland College men's basketball team to an undisputed 84-55 win over Maranatha Baptist College Tuesday night in the Moose and Dona Woltzen Gymnasium.
After a sluggish start, the Muskies (3-1, 1-1 NAC) picked up the tempo to register an eight point led at halftime that they never relinquished. The Muskies went up by as much as 31 points in the second half to secure its first Northern Athletics Conference win of the season.
The Muskies intense defense was too much for the Crusaders as they committed 27 turnovers that led to 30 Lakeland points. Brendan Brown and Marcus Kirby each scored 13 points to lead the Crusaders.
Junior forward Germell Heard (Milwaukee, Wis.) and junior guard Josh Regal (Suring, Wis.) scored 11 points apiece. Regal added four rebounds to go along with a game-high eight assists, while recording zero turnovers.
Freshman Stan McKenzie (Racine, Wis.) added 10 points while grabbing two rebounds to go along with three steals.
