Schwake earns NAC honors

Lakeland College senior golfer Kristin Schwake (Two Rivers, Wis.) has been named to the 2010 Northern Athletics Conference All-Sportsman Team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Schwake placed 18th at the NAC Championship with a two-day score of 224. The tournament was held on Oct. 3-4 at the Glen Erin Golf Country Club in Janesville, Wis. Schwake also competed in the Concordia, Wis., Cup on Sept. 26-27 at the North Shore Country Club in Mequon, Wis. She placed 12th in the tournament with a two-day combined score of 219.

Lakeland head women's golf coach Cathy Hanek is pleased with Schwake's efforts and progress as a golfer.

"She's come a long way since her freshman year," said Hanek. "She worked hard and improved tremendously. She consistently continued to play better each match."
