TUCSON, Ariz.- Junior Leah Sheahan hit two home runs and went 3-for-4 from the plate, but it wasn't enough as the Lakeland softball team suffered a 16-9 loss to the College of Staten Island Monday night in Tucson, Ariz.
Staten Island got off to a quick start after scoring six runs in the first inning. The Muskies quickly answered by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Erin Henk and Sheahan both doubled to string together a couple of runs.
Sammy Reider also hit a home run with two runs scored to lead Lakeland. She ended the night with a solid 2-for-3 from the plate.
Jenny LaLuzerne went 1-for-3 with three runs scored while Sam Janc went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Henk also had a solid night at the plate going 2-for-4 with a double.

The Muskies (0-4) enjoy Tuesday off and return to action on Wednesday, March 16, when they play Rutgers University (Newark) and Augsburg College at 5 and 7 p.m., respectively.
