Muskies fall to stars

The Lakeland College women's volleyball team suffered a setback on Friday night, falling to Northern Athletics Conference foe Dominican University.

The Muskies (6-16, 3-4 NAC) lost in four sets, 3-1 (25-21, 25-18, 21-25, 25-16).

Sophomore outside hitters, Amanda Dillman (Sheboygan, Wis.) and Anna Faust (Cross Plains, Wis.), led the Muskies with 12 and 11 kills respectively. Meanwhile, sophomore libero Tess Myklebust (Wisconsin Dells, Wis.) and sophomore outside hitter Melissa Christiansen (Valders, Wis.) led Lakeland with 14 and 13 digs each.

"We played well for two games tonight," said Lakeland head coach Jon Staabs. "We served well, played some good defense and had a good rhythm, we just weren't focused the whole match. We took a few plays off and it cost us. Hopefully we can come out with the same energy and heart and get a win tomorrow."

The Muskies return to action tomorrow with a 10 a.m. match in River Forest, Ill. against NAC foe Concordia University Chicago.
