Lakeland Men's Soccer Falls to 9th Ranked Dominican

On a hot Saturday afternoon the Lakeland College Men's Soccer team battled to a hard fought 3-1 loss to the 9th ranked Stars of Dominican University.
The Muskies came out flat early and gave up a goal in 2nd minute. A second Dominican goal put Lakeland down 0-2 just 10 minutes into the contest.
Lakeland turned it on at that point and took the game to Dominican. Freshman midfielder Zach Buchman (Waterford) scored in the 22nd minute off a Scott Kress (Kiel) assist to the take the score to 1-2 going into half.
In the second half, the Muskies dominated the run of play for the first 20 minutes, creating countless scoring chances. Unfortunately, the Muskies could not put one past the Stars keeper and later conceded a 3rd goal leading to a 3-1 defeat.
Junior goalkeeper Joe Silverberg (South Bend, IN) was solid in goal for the Muskies with 6 saves to his credit.
The Muskies out shot Dominican 13 to 8 on the day and had 6 corners.
The Muskie Men will be back in action tomorrow when they travel to play Carroll College at Mukwonago High School. The men's game is part of a double header in which the Lakeland women open up 2 pm followed by the men at 4 pm.
