MEQUON, Wis. - Senior Josh Regal scored a game-high 25 points to lift the Lakeland College men's basketball team to an 85-83 overtime win over Concordia University Wisconsin in the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament semi-final Thursday night in the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse.
The 21-6 Muskies advance to the NAC Tournament championship game against Edgewood College on Saturday in Madison, Wis.
The Falcons' Luke Doedens sent the game into overtime for the second time this year when he hit a jumper with under 20 seconds remaining in regulation. CUW went on a 4-0 run to take an 80-76 lead in the beginning of overtime, but the Muskies answered on 9-3 run to seal the game.
Regal (Suring) iced the game when he hit a pair of free throws with seven seconds left to give the Muskies an 85-80 cushion. David Lopez hit a last second 3-pointer, but it wasn't enough to edge Lakeland.
Regal finished the night with nine rebounds and eight assists, while Sophomore James Oshkeshequoam (Shawano) finished with 17 points on 5-for-10 shooting from 3-point range.
Lakeland returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Madison, Wis., to take on the Eagles of Edgewood College in the NAC Tournament championship game. Tipoff is 2 p.m. in the Todd Wehr Edgedome.
