The Lakeland College Muskies dropped a tough game to the #15-ranked Dominican Stars, 2-0 on October 15. Dominican dominated the first half tallying 13 shots and two goals.

In the 32nd minute senior forward David Niederholtmeyer found freshman Matt Kochanowski in front of the net. Kochanowski collected the pass with his back to the net, he turned and fired it past a diving Joe Silverberg. Just 10 minutes later off of a corner kick the Stars were able to make it 2-0. Kochanowski kicked a corner kick that was collected by freshman Plamen Pamukov. Pamukov found Niederholtmeyer in front of the net and put it in for the 2-0 lead.

The Muskies came out fired up in the second half netting seven shots and holding Dominican to just one; however, they were unable to put anything into the back of the net.

The game saw three yellow cards, one on the Stars head coach just five minutes into the contest and two on the Muskies.
