Senior Ben Koepsell and sophomore Brittany Jurek have been named the college's Muskies of the Week for their athletic performances over Labor Day Weekend. Read about their performances below.

Brittany Jurek
It didn't take long for sophomore Brittany Jurek to make an impact on the Lakeland College women's tennis team.
The Gladstone, Mich., native competed in her first tennis match on Sept. 3, where she defeated Taylor McLaughlin of Rockford College, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4 singles.
Jurek, a member of the college's softball team, is new to tennis, but she has seamlessly adapted to the game and was nominated for Northern Athletics Conference Player of the Week. Head coach Casey Carr sees the potential in Jurek.
"She is one of the most athletic girls I've ever coached," said Carr. "Her hand-eye coordination comes natural and she wants to get better every day. Brittany lightens up the mood of the team and has a lot of fun playing. She will be a great player as she continues to learn the game."
