Muskies of the Week: Jeremy Hardy and Monica Santelli

Senior Jeremy Hardy and sophomore Monica Santelli have been named the college's Muskies of the Week for their hat trick performances in Northern Athletics Conference play last week. Read about their performances below.

Jeremy Hardy

Senior Jeremy Hardy carried the Lakeland College men's soccer team to a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over Rockford College on Sept. 17.

The Cooks, Mich., native recorded his first collegiate hat trick, including the game-winning goal in overtime against the host Regents. Hardy sparked Lakeland's first Northern Athletics Conference opener win in two seasons.

The 6-foot-2 forward has netted four goals this season to increase his career tally to 14. He is tied for third in goals in the NAC and was named the NAC Player of the Week.

Aside from his soccer duties, Hardy serves as a resident assistant for the college.

Hardy is majoring in resort management and minoring in international business.

A:  Italy, because it's supposed to be beautiful there.

 

Monica Santelli

Sophomore Monica Santelli hasfound her touch on the Lakeland College women's soccer team.

The Pleasant Prairie, Wis., native recorded her first collegiate hat trick on Sept. 17 against Rockford College in a lopsided 9-2 victory in Northern Athletics Conference action. Santelli helped lead the team remain undefeated in the NAC.

The 5-foot forward missed last season with a broken clavicle, but her presence on the field this season has helped the Muskies to a 2-0 conference record, 3-4 overall. She was nominated for NAC Player of the Week.

Santelli is majoring in elementary education and minoring in English as a second language.
