The Lakeland Muskies had a tough day, on Friday, Sept. 16, dropping two conference matches to Maranatha Baptist and Wisconsin Lutheran in a tri-angular match at Wisconsin Lutheran. The Muskies lost the match against Maranatha Baptist 3-2, before dropping the match to Wisconsin Lutheran 3-1.
Against Maranatha Baptist the Muskies won the first game 30-26 and the third match 30-25, while dropping the second match 30-28, the fourth match 30-25 and the fifth match 15-12. Senior Heather Heberlein led the offense with 19 kills, while senior Megan Maas led the defense with 16 digs.
After dropping the first two games to Wisconsin Lutheran 30-26 and 30-22 the Muskies were able to take the third game 30-28. The attempt a tying the match up was squashed though in the fourth game after Wisconsin Lutheran won 30-27. Heberlein once again took control of the offense recording 10 kills, while senior setter Lana Neuman led the defense with 16 digs.
The Muskies are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 17 when they travel back to Milwaukee for a tri-angular with Edgewood and Alverno at Alverno College.
