Muskies of the Week: Allison Davis and Ben Koepsell

Seniors Ben Koepsell and Allison Davis have been named the college's Muskies of the Week for their performances in Northern Athletics Conference play last week. Read about their performances below.

Ben Koepsell

Senior Ben Koepsell recorded his first career hat trick and helped the Lakeland College men's soccer team register a 6-2 win over Wisconsin Lutheran College on Oct. 22, which was the program's senior day.

Koepsell struck first in the 14th minute and added his second and third goals in the second half. Koepsell also dished out an assist in addition to becoming the ninth Muskie to record a hat trick.

The Cedar Grove, Wis., native also capped a goal against Milwaukee School of Engineering on Oct. 19. He has netted 21 career goals and was named Northern Athletics Conference Player of the Week.

Aside from his soccer duties, Koepsell serves as a resident assistant, a tutor and an ambassador with Lakeland's admissions office.

Koepsell is a double major in psychology and sociology.

A: My knowledge of the game.

A: My first touch.

A: Beating the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh in my last home game.

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
A: Antarctica, because they have penguins there.

Allison Davis

Senior Allison Davis led the Muskies to a 3-0 week as Lakeland played its way into the Northern Athletics Conference tournament.

The Sheboygan, Wis. native led Lakeland with 42 kills and just six errors in 82 attempts for a .439 hitting percentage. She also recorded five digs and had four blocks.

Her biggest game of the week game on senior day, Saturday, Oct. 22, as she had 11 kills and zero errors for a .440 hitting percentage. She also added two blocks as the Muskies clinched a NAC berth in a win over Rockford College. Davis was named NAC Player of the Week.

Aside from her volleyball duties, Davis is also a member of the women's basketball team and serves on the student athlete advisory committee.

Davis is majoring in sports studies and minoring in business administration.

A: Advancing to the NCAA Tournament my sophomore year.

A: The Great Barrier Reef, because I like the water and it's warm.
