Muskies swept by Titans

The Lakeland College men's volleyball team suffered a setback on Tuesday night, falling to Wisconsin Volleyball Conference rival, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in three games, 3-0 (22-25, 21-25, 20-25).

The Muskies (10-12, 4-5 WVC) are now 0-5 against the Titans this season, with all but one game within five points.

Lakeland was led by freshman Alec Redlich (Wauwatosa, Wis.) who had a team-high nine kills and 11 digs. Sophomore middle hitter Matt Bilinski (Bartlett, Ill.) added seven kills, while freshman setter Dayton Erickson (Trevor, Wis.) tallied 25 assists.

Lakeland head coach Joe Julkowski wasn't happy with his team's performance.

"I wish I could walk away from the loss saying I was content with how we played, but I'm not," said Julkowski. "I wouldn't be disappointed if I knew we couldn't beat them. We hung with the No. 3 team in the nation playing our below average game. I can't wait to see how we do against Oshkosh when we play with intensity 100 percent of the time."

Lakeland returns to the court on Thursday, March 8, as the Muskies host WVC foe UW-Whitewater at 8 p.m.
