Kaczmarek shines as Muskies fall in regular season finale

The Lakeland College men's volleyball team suffered a setback on Tuesday night, losing in four sets, 3-1 (26-22, 23-25, 22-25, 19-25), to Wisconsin Volleyball Conference rival UW-Oshkosh.

The Muskies (18-15, 6-6 WVC) handed the Titans just their second lost set in WVC play and were close in all three sets, Lakeland just couldn't push through.

Lakeland was led by sophomore outside hitter Brett Kaczmarek (Kenosha, Wis.) who had a team high 16 kills, while freshman Alec Redlich (Wauwatosa, Wis.) added 14 kills and senior Beau Bradshaw (Oak Lawn, Ill.) tallied 11. Freshman setter Dayton Erickson (Trevor, Wis.) finished with 48 assists.

Senior libero, Andy Cheever (Greenfield, Wis.), continued his excellent play, collecting 10 digs.

"We continue to improve, but there are still consistency issues," said Lakeland head coach Joe Julkowski. "The consistency comes with experience and luckily every day we compete is another step towards a successful season."

Lakeland returns to the court on Friday, March 30, when the Muskies travel to Oshkosh, Wis., to take part in the WVC State Championships. Lakeland's first match is at 5:30 p.m. against UW-Whitewater.
