- ABOUT LAKELAND

On Sept. 7 the Lakeland Muskie golfers finished second at Rolling Meadows. The Muskies finished with a score of 466 in the six team tournament. Medaling for the Muskies was freshman Kelly Broeren with a 93.
"It was a really good event for us," said head coach Gary Grzesk. "For the first time out and having such a young team I thought the ladies played really well."
Broeren led the way for the Muskies with six pars, two birdies, and one eagle.
"She has obviously put a lot of time and effort into her game," said Grzesk. "She was consistent throughout the whole day. She hit the ball really well and we will probably end up playing her number one for the rest of the year. As a true freshman that is really remarkable."
The Muskies will be back in action on Sept. 12 at New Berlin Hills for a 10a.m. start.
