This week, the Lakeland College men's volleyball team finishes the 2011-12 campaign in Kansas City, Mo., as the Muskies take part in the National Collegiate Volleyball Federation National Championship.
The Muskies (20-19, 6-7 WVC) are coming off one of their worst performances of the season, after a disappointing fifth place finish at the Wisconsin Volleyball Conference tournament. Lakeland went 0-3 in pool play and then lost in the first round of the playoffs before winning their final two matches to win the consolation bracket.
In pool play Lakeland lost to UW-Whitewater (2-1), Marquette (2-1) and UW-Oshkosh (2-0). In the first round of the playoffs the Muskies fell to UW-LaCrosse (2-0). Lakeland finished the tournament with 2-0 victories over UW-Platteville and UW-Whitewater.
The Muskies hope to find consistency and make a run deep into the National Championships.
