MSOE scores three quick goals, sends Lakeland to loss

Milwaukee School of Engineering scored three goals in the first 3:45 of the game and dominated play throughout, defeating the Lakeland College women's soccer team 10-0 Wednesday afternoon in a Northern Athletics Conference match.

MSOE's Caitlin Liddiard scored three goals and Paula Bohl delivered four assists as the Raiders improved to 9-8-1 overall and 6-5 in the NAC. Lakeland dropped to 3-12 overall and is now 2-8 in conference.

The Raiders got goals from Natalie Gayner, Shelby Strudle and then Liddiard over a span of 1:49 in taking the early 3-0 lead. Bohl scored a goal at 15:49 and Victoria Falcon added a tally in the 24th minute to give MSOE a 5-0 lead less than 24 minutes into the match.

The Raiders added a final goal before halftime and scored less than two minutes into the second half, and then added three more goals in a span of 3:14. Bohl assisted on the final three MSOE goals and Liddiard scored twice more, with Anna O'Donnell adding a goal as well.

MSOE outshot Lakeland 28-3, including 21 shots on goal. Goalkeepers Jessica Carter (Fr.-Schaumburg, Ill.) and Ali Thompson (Fr.-Plymouth, Wis.) combined to make 11 saves for the Muskies.

Hannah Landgraf (Sr.-Elkart Lake, Wis.) took two shots in her final home match to lead Lakeland offensively. Krystina Cook (So.-Des Plaines, Ill.) added one shot.

Lakeland next will face Wisconsin Lutheran College at 1 p.m. on Saturday in an NAC match in Milwaukee.
