David Jacobson scored just over three minute into the second half for St. Norbert College, the only goal in the match as the Lakeland College men's soccer team lost 1-0 to the Green Knights Saturday afternoon.
Jacobson scored off of an assist by Trevor Scales at 48:09 of the match, and St. Norbert made it stand up the rest of the way. Lakeland took seven shots in the second half but none were on goal as Noah Davis recorded the shutout in goal for the Green Knights.
The visitors outshot Lakeland 23-13, including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal. Jacobson was the dominant offensive player in the match, taking nine shots (five on goal).
Daiya Akiyama (Sr.-Ichihara, Japan) led the Muskies with five shots, while Paul Elzinga (So.-Howards Grove, Wis.) added three shots. Alex Piekarski (Sr.-Menasha, Wis.) made seven saves in goal for Lakeland.
Lakeland returns to the field Sunday when it hosts Ripon College at 3 p.m. at the Lakeland Soccer Field.
