This week in track and field

This week, the Lakeland College track and field team will travel to Lisle, Ill., on Friday, May 4, and River Forest, Ill., on Saturday, May 5, for the Northern Athletics Conference outdoor track and field championships.

The Muskies hope to continue to improve on the personal bests and come away with a few top finishes. Junior Vashia Gordon hopes to follow up her record-setting performance with a new NAC Championship record in the high jump. Freshman Dylan Grimsrud hopes to continue his steady improvement and place in the top three in the 400 and 800 meter dashes.

Lakeland knows it must be realistic with team expectations, however, that doesn't mean they don't want to make an impression on the competition.

The events on Friday begin at 9:30 a.m., while the events on Saturday start at 11 a.m.
