Muskies Defeat MSOE; Move on to Face Concordia

On a blustery day in Milwaukee the Lakeland College Men's Soccer team defeated the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering 2-1. With the win, the Muskies advance to play Concordia University in the Lake Michigan Conference Tournament semi finals on Wednesday in Mequon at 2 pm.

MSOE defender Chris Boardman put the Raiders on top 1-0 in the 16th minute when he slotted home a loose ball in the penalty box. The score would remain unchanged going into halftime with the Muskies trailing 1-0.

Freshman midfielder Zach Buchman knotted the score a one a piece with a goal in the 58th minute. Lakeland would tally another goal in the 80th minute when a Muskie cross was inadvertently headed in by a Raider defender.

Junior goalkeeper Joe Silverberg (South Bend, Indiana) went the distance in goal and picked up 4 saves.
