Women's Basketball Drops Game to UW-La Crosse

Athletics - posted on 11/27/2005

A night after upsetting the No. 16 ranked team in the nation, Buena Vista, Lakeland would fall to UW-La Crosse 78-50 in the second round of the Holiday Inn Express Thanksgiving Classic hosted by UW-La Crosse.

UW-La Crosse would never trail in the game, jumping out to a 12-4 lead minutes into the first half and would build a 20 point lead after the first half, 41-21.

In the second half, it was all La Crosse, as the high powered offense of the Eagles was too much for the Muskies.  UW-La Crosse's Nicole Palmer dropped 20 on the Muskies in route to the 28 point loss.

Three Muskies scored in double figures, with Kristi Thill scoring 12 points and grabbing five rebounds while Beth Porter and Danielle Duranceau both scored 11.  Jenna Boehm also pulled down a team high seven rebounds.

With the loss, the Muskies drop to 2-3 on the season.  The Muskies will next be in action on Wednesday, Nov. 30 when they will travel to MSOE's Kern Center for a match-up with the Raiders.  That game is set for 7 p.m.
