The Beginning of my Final Semester!
Posted on 9/5/2009 11:14:26 AM
Well, one school week is over! My summer was great, and I'll blog about two aspects of it in my next 2 blogs.
I moved on campus over two weeks ago because I had RA training for a week. It was mostly a review of previous years, but I did learn some new things. We do have a new Hall Director in Krueger; her name is Kati. She's a great supervisor, and she is really fun. Her personality adds some flavor to our easy-going staff. I am the only returning RA to Krueger this year, but I am so excited to be working with the other RAs assigned to Krueger. We've had a great time getting to know each other, and I really think we'll have a great semester.
My residents so far have been amazing. I have a pretty even mix of domestic Freshman, international students, and returners. We're all getting along really well, and we socialize a lot more than in previous years.
Classes aren't too bad this semester. My blogging tailed off at the end of last semester because I was wrapping up a few hard classes, but this semester I only have 3 on-campus classes and 1 2-credit internship in Sheboygan. My classes are very different from one another, and I think the subjects will be enjoyable. The syllabi for the classes don't seem to suggest anything I can't handle.
I am not going to fully participate in any student orgs this semester... you may be thinking, what?!?!?!?! But yea, I want to have time for myself, and I want the least amount of stress possible. Because, in addition to school, I am obviously preparing for life after graduation- job searches and wedding planning.
I do plan to keep up on blogs though, so keep looking for my posts!!! I can't believe I will have my whole college career blogged.... that's pretty awesome.
