Soccer Update

Hello again.

Just wanted to update everyone about the soccer season. We played a very important game last night at Edgewood University in Madison. Going into the game we were 1 point ahead of Edgewood in the Conference standings and we needed the win (3 points) to keep our dreams of making the Conference tourney alive.

The game didn't start well as we gave up a goal within the first 5 minutes of the game to fall behind early 1-0. From that point on we dominated possession and had a lot of chances to score, with no success. With about 1 minute left in the 2nd half I played a corner into the box and Jeremy Hardy, a junior forward, headed in his 4th goal of the season. We kept the 1-1 tie for the last 50 seconds and went into overtime for the 5th time this year. With about 2 minutes left in overtime I took a shot from about 18 yards out and beat the keeper at the far post, giving us our third straight conference victory. The goal was also my 4th of the season.

It felt very good to get the victory and we needed the win very much. For a more in depth look at the conference standings here is the website:

We have 3 games left to play: Home against Marian University and away against MSOE and Aurora University. Wish us luck in our future games and hopefully there are more updates/good news to come.
