Fall Break
Posted on 10/18/2010 10:31:33 PM
Hello.
I was just sitting in my room enjoying a little but of Monday Night Football when I decided that I could procrastinate on my homework a little longer and write another blog. I have a paper due tomorrow and a worksheet that is also due tomorrow that I am avoiding like the plague for as long as I can so I thought I'd fill you in on what's new and exciting in my life.
Well....not a whole lot is new with me actually... I can't remember if I talked about the Edgewood soccer game in my last blog; if I did bear with me, if I didn't- here you go. (: We played Edgewood University last week Tuesday and we won 2-1 in overtime. It was a good game, both teams close in the conference standings, and we were trailing 1-0 for majority of the game. With about 1 minute left in the 2nd half I played a corner kick in and Jeremy Hardy headed it past the keeper to tie the game up at 1-1. Heading into overtime all the momentum was on our side and with about 2 minutes left in the 10 minute overtime period, I cut past a defender and played a shot into the bottom right hand corner from about 20 yards out. I'm not sure how many of you are "up-to-date" with your hip-hop songs and dances, but if you are familiar with the song "Teach me how to Dougie" then you'll understand the dance I did for my celebration. It was a lot of fun.
We play again this Wednesday against Marian University...should be another good game. We are currently sitting in 5th place in the conference standings, good enough for a spot in the conference tourney, but Marian isn't far behind us. A win will almost guarantee us a place in the conference tourney so we need this game badly. Also, with my recent outbreak of goals I moved into 7th place in Lakeland College's Career goals list, with 14.
You are probably sick of reading about soccer so let's see if I can mix it up a little bit for you... Fall Break is coming up. For those of you who are unaware, Fall Break is a short break (Thursday-Sunday) during October to give us a small time away from classes before Thanksgiving break at the end of November. It is a much needed break for me and I'm sure for many other students on campus. I plan on doing a whole lot of nothing over break; sleeping and catching up on some homework. Throw in a few soccer practices in there, but that's nothing out of the ordinary.
Well, I think that's about all I have for you tonight. I'm considering getting back to my paper since I've noticed it isn't going to write itself... Hope to have good news for you come Wednesday night!!

Why did I chose Lakeland?:
I wanted a school that was close to home and a place that I knew I would receive the individual attention I needed from my Professors.
What am I doing when I'm not playing soccer or in class?:
I enjoy playing basketball and hanging out with friends.
