That Time of Year......Again
Posted on 10/21/2010 1:06:34 PM

Hello again,

Well, it's that time of year again; the air is cold and crisp, the leaves are changing colors and falling, and the flu bug is making it's way around campus. As much as I love Fall because of the sweatshirt and jeans weather, the beauty of the changing leaves, and the signs of Winter approaching more and more each day, I hate being sick. I have enough on my plate right now with classes, soccer, and work; I don't need another thing weighing me down, but unfortunately this time the flu bug got the best of me...

As promised though, here is the latest soccer update that I know you have all been anxiously awaiting! We played yesterday afternoon against Marian University and as much as it pains me to say it, we ended up on the losing end. The game was well played throughout and we had many, many chances but we were unable to capitalize and we let them sneak one in with about 25 minutes left to play. I hate to say it, but that was definitely the worst game I played all season, which is upsetting. I alone had about 5 good chances to score and I came up short each time. Despite all this bad news I've been laying down in this post, there is some good news as far as soccer is concerned; we still have a chance to make the conference tournament despite that loss. We play Sunday at Aurora University on Sunday and at MSOE next week Tuesday night for our final regular season games of the year. If we can get two victories there is a good chance that we will find ourselves in the conference tourney for the 3rd straight year; if we win only one of the two games we are going to need some help from other teams to get in, but it is not impossible so keep your fingers crossed for us.

The last thing that I have on my mind for the day is that I am extremely happy that it is Fall Break. We have today off from soccer to rest and see our families before we hit the pitch again Friday afternoon for practice. I needed these couple days off to rest my body and mind. School is taking a lot out of me this semester and I think that having a few days to catch up on some sleep and get caught up/ahead of the game on my homework will be very beneficial come the end of the semester.

That's about all I have for the day. I just wanted to say thank you to all those who have been consistently reading the blog; please take time to comment though, I'd love to know what all of you are thinking in regards to what I have to say.
