Hello all.

I'm back again with some new-ish soccer news. After our ugly loss to Marian at the end of last week, we had a few days to recover and lick our wounds before we played again. The next game was at Aurora University in Illinois. Aurora is currently the 2nd ranked team in the conference and has the 2nd seed and a bye in the first round of the NAC tourney locked up. We played them pretty well for the most part, losing 1-0, but we didn't create that many scoring opportunities for ourselves. Unfortunately that loss put is in a pretty bad position. Had we won one of the two games (Marian or Aurora) we would have been locked in for the conference tourney. Now the fate rests on two things- Aurora needs to beat Benedictine (who we tied early in the year) and we need to beat MSOE. if both of us lose, Benedictine gets in and we fail to make the conference tourney for the first time since I've been a part of the Lakeland College soccer program.

Well, we were scheduled to play MSOE on Tuesday night in Milwaukee, but because of the rain we had gotten the night before, Uihlein soccer complex (the field we would have been playing at) closed and the game was canceled. For those who do not know, the High School State tournament is held at Uihlein soccer complex and they were concerned about us ripping up the field prior to the State tournament starting. As a result, the game was pushed back to Thursday and moved to a new location in Wauwatosa. I don't know a whole lot about MSOE except that they have the 3rd spot in the conference tourney locked up so they don't exactly have a lot to play for. I'm hoping that we can come out strong tomorrow and get ahead early so that we can shake their confidence and sneak out of there with a win.

In other news, fall break went well. It was pretty relaxed for the most part. I stayed at school and did a little bit of homework, got caught up on laundry and cleaning the apartment and most important caught up on sleep. I did manage to make it home for a few hours on Saturday afternoon after morning soccer practice but that was cut short because the bus left for Aurora at 7:30 and I wanted a good nights rest.

Finally, Halloween is right around the corner, so that's kind of exciting. One of my roommates and I are going as Boondock Saints. Our costume is relatively simple; black shirts, jeans, black sun glasses, a toy squirt gun spray painted black, and a rosary; but if I do say so myself, we look good. I'm not entirely sure what is going on for Halloween yet, it all depends on how soccer goes, but I am excited none the less.

I think that's all I have for tonight. Hope to be back soon.
