Good Weekend
Posted on 11/21/2010 11:44:29 PM
Hello everyone.
Sorry for the length between posts... but I didn't really have a whole lot to blog about recently. School is beginning to wind down and, as always, the homework is starting to pile up. I've been spending a lot of time writing papers and trying to get everything done before I leave for Thanksgiving Break on Tuesday night.
Anyways I just wanted to talk about this weekend a little bit... it was a pretty interesting. First off, Friday afternoon I decided that I was going to go to the Doctor's office and have them take a look at my face... at my face you ask... yes. Well long story short... my face isn't working the way that it should. I went to the Doctor's office, as I mentioned, and the Doctor determined that I have Bells Palsy. For those of you who don't have a clue what that is, it is a viral infection that affects a nerve in my head. The nerve is swollen and it is causing the left side of my face to be *temporarily* paralyzed. The Doctor's don't know exactly what causes this to happen and they don't have an exact time frame for how long it will last, which is disappointing. I am on two different medicines though and they should reduce the swelling to allow the nerve to function properly again. I'm really hoping that this goes away sooner rather than later, because it really isn't as fun as it sounds. haha
Saturday was a much better day. My girlfriend and I went to Bayshore and met up with one of her best friends from High School. We spent a few hours walking around Bayshore (even though it was a bit chilly) but I picked up a new shirt and a new hat, so it was a successful day. (: When we got back to Cedar Grove, my home town, we spent a little bit of time at my house and played the Nintendo Wii.... always a fun time. At about 6:00 p. m I left my house and I drove to a friend's house so we could leave to go to the Bucks game at 7:30. The Bucks game was a lot of fun, we had GREAT seats ( about 6 rows from the court...). Unfortunately the Bucks lost, but all in all it was a great time. When I got back Saturday night I put in a movie and went to bed.
Sunday was my day to recover from the long weekend. I slept in until about 11:30 and then went to Brunch. After brunch I basically spent the rest of the day working on homework and watching football. Great day for football because the Packers dominated the Vikings!! (: (Sorry Viking fans, but I'm thinking it may be time for Brett to hang it up...). Now I'm all done with my homework for the next two days of class and I couldn't be happier. I have one class tomorrow and a meeting for a Student as Practitioner project and work. Tomorrow night I have an indoor soccer game in Appleton again at 5:45 and then I should be able to catch Monday Night Football. Tuesday my first and third class of the day are cancelled so I just have one class at 9:30 and then I'm free to go home for break! (If you can't tell I'm excited for a few days off). Break should be really fun because I'll be home Tuesday night and Wednesday to meet up with old friends. Thursday will be Thanksgiving at my grandmas house will my whole family, which is always a hoot. Friday I will be leaving to head to my girlfriends house to meet her family and spend some time with them. Sunday night we will be coming back to my house for dinner with my family and then we will head back to school to finish the next few weeks before Christmas Break.
Hope all of you are doing well and I hope that everyone has a fantastic Thanksgiving! If you are traveling, travel safely. Enjoy the time with your families and make sure to give thanks for everything that God his given you in your life. Be safe, have fun, and I'll check back in with everyone after break. Maybe someone will have some good Thanksgiving stories to share with me in a comment?...I sure hope so.
Take care. (:
