Christmas Time

Hello everyone.

I just want to start off by saying Merry Christmas Eve to everyone. The basis behind this blog is simple, and I think everyone at one point or another has said this, but it bugged me this morning when I was in Wal-Mart.

I was walking around with my brother picking out last minute gifts (yes, I'm a procrastinator)... and I heard a group of kids talking. I don't want to say I was eavesdropping, but I may have heard bits and pieces of their conversation. The part I heard was that "their family was lame" and they don't want to go over to so and so's house for Christmas. That was frustrating to hear for me. Like I mentioned, I'm pretty sure everyone, at some point in their life, has said something about their family; whether it's that you hate them (I hope not)... or that they are lame or boring, or something of that sort. But during Christmas time I wish more people would understand that Christmas isn't all about presents. Christmas is a time when you can spend time with your family and be thankful that you have a family to spend time with. Christmas is a time of giving, not only gifts, but giving yourself (time, etc,) to the people you love.

Basically the message I'm trying to send is in this Christmas season try and remember the meaning behind Christmas, and worry less about gifts and more about spending time with the people you love. There is no guarantee that those people will be around forever so cherish each moment, and make some memories in this Christmas season. I dare you. (:
