Rivalry Week Begins for Lakeland Basketball Teams
Now that the holidays are over and January is upon us, it can only mean one thing for the Lakeland College men's and women's basketball teams - the heart of their Northern Athletics Conference schedules, where anything can happen on any given night.
The league's top teams always have a target on their back, and underdogs can string together a few upsets and suddenly find themselves in the thick of the league race during these next few months, making each game a separate battle.

Kris Saiberlich
The junior guard recently made a comeback from an injury to tally eight points in the Muskies' 81-68 victory over Alma College to clinch third place at the Goaltenders/Bankers Classic at Franklin College, Ind.
"Sabes" hit two 3-pointers, picked off two steals and grabbed two boards to help put the game out of reach.

Paul Hartt
The 6-foot-2 184-pound junior has put forth a solid effort so far this season, helping the Muskies to a fourth place finish at the Mount Union Duals on December 16.
The Port Charlotte, Fla., native was one of only two Muskies to go undefeated in the meet, as he defeated opponents from Mount Union and Grand Valley State University before pinning his last foe from Belmont Abby in two minutes flat.

Rogers scores double-double as Lakeland College downs Alma 89-61
Lakeland College took home third place at the Goaltenders-Bankers Classic Tournament with an 89-61 win over Alma College, Mich., on Saturday in Franklin, Ind.
Sophomore Matt Rogers earned the first double-double of his college career scoring 29 points and coming down with 10 boards. He was also named to the all-tournament team.
