Former Muskie Football Players Maiuri, Van De Loo Return from Germany
For former Lakeland quarterback Ryan Maiuri, Homecoming has a new meaning this year.
The former Muskie football standout and 2006 Lakeland graduate returned home last week after a five-month stint in Hamburg, Germany, playing in the German Football League for the Hamburg Blue Devils.
He was one of two 2006 Lakeland graduates playing in the German League this season. Former teammate Ryan Van De Loo was a linebacker for the Marburg Mercenaries.

The senior goalkeeper has been instrumental to the Muskies' success this season, as each of the squad's eight overall wins have been shutouts.
"Goldberg" tallied one such shutout on Saturday, making four saves to bring her record-breaking career total shutout count to 33, as Lakeland blanked conference opponent Rockford College, 9-0.

The senior captain has been a key ingredient for the Muskies on defense this year, providing a great deal of vocal leadership and direction for his teammates.
Although the Kiel native's contributions may not show up in the stat line he has been a consistent and positive force for a defensive line that sees a lot of action, as opponents have been known to rack up double-digit shot totals so far this year.

 Seniors Boost Women's Soccer to 9-0 Win Over Rockford
The women's soccer team improved to 5-2-1 in conference, blanking Northern Athletics Conference opponent Rockford College 9-0 at home on Saturday, Oct. 14.
It seemed fitting that each of Lakeland's six seniors scored at least one goal to cap off their Senior Day celebrations, with the exception of goalkeeper Alli Weiss and the injured Tracy Bins.
