Women's Volleyball Heads into NAC Tournament with High Hopes

With the Northern Athletics Conference Tournament upon them, the Lakeland College women's volleyball team is sizing up the competition with a familiar mindset - winning the conference title.

The Muskies, who made snagging the conference crown a habit from 2002-05, look to regain that achievement this season, and their success in the regular season suggests it's a more-than achievable goal.

Paul Resop

The 6-foot senior running back has played a vital role in the Muskies' offensive scheme this season, as he leads the squad in rushing yards with an average of 47.1 yards per game and is second in touchdowns with five.

The Appleton native racked up 76 yards on the ground in Saturday's 56-7 man-handling of Concordia University Chicago, and recorded the first TD of the game on an eight-yard run.

Rachel Young

The 5-foot-8 senior defensive specialist has continued to torture her opponents with her wicked serves this season, compiling a team-high 38 service aces.

The Davenport, Ia., native racked up five of those aces in the Muskies' huge 3-0 win over Stevens Institute on Saturday at the UW-Whitewater Tournament.

Men's Soccer Travels to Edgewood for NAC Tournament Opener

The pairings for the Northern Athletics Conference men's soccer tournament are set, and the quarterfinals begin on Monday, Oct. 29.

Lakeland was named the sixth and final seed in the tournament following a pair of wins over Milwaukee School of Engineering and Benedictine University this week, boosting the Muskies' NAC record to 4-6.
