Lakeland College

Lakeland College's annual Blasters golf tournament is turning 21! We will be celebrating in grand style as returning golfers and first-time participants alike gather to raise money for Lakeland student scholarships. As the sole fundraising effort for the Alumni Legacy Scholarship program, the tournament has raised a total of $71,000 in scholarship support.

The $200 fee (per golfer) includes 18 holes of scramble format golf, a cart equipped with GPS, driving range access, a team photo, continental breakfast, lunch, dinner buffet, and drink tickets.

Every June, over 400 amateur competitors race in 24 classes during this event, one of the Sports Car Club of America's (SCCA) largest races and the first in the Triple Crown of Racing. 

As a member of the Lakeland College family, alumni, friends, and family are welcome to join our group for behind-the-scenes tours. Lakeland College alumna and Road America communications director, Julie Sebranek `93, will be providing private tours of the media center, race controls, and the paddock. There may even be a chance to meet SCCA drivers and get their autograph and a photo with them!

For only $15/person you will get a suite ticket that includes race admission and lunch.

What could be more fun on a summer evening than a good, old-fashioned night at the ball park - complete with a fireworks finale? Join other Lakeland alumni, friends, students, and families for an evening on the Leinie's Northwoods Fan Deck to watch the Green Bay Bullfrogs take on the Wausau Woodchucks.

The Bullfrogs are the summer collegiate Northwoods League team that began playing in the summer of 2007. They finished last year's Inaugural Season with a league beset 43-25 record and will aim to repeat the success of last year against former Milwaukee Brewer great, Jim Gantner's, Wausau Woodchucks. Tickets to the game are $23 per person, which includes an "all you can eat" extravaganza of beer, soda, brats, burgers, hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, chicken breasts, chips, and baked beans! There is no better way to wrap up what promises to be a great season than by seeing the Milwaukee Brewers take on the Chicago Cubs at beautiful Miller Park. Bring your friend or family and enjoy the day game that is sure to bring excitement to Milwaukee.

Back by popular demand is the Miller Park Dew Deck in right field. The Dew Deck will be reserved for the private colleges, including Lakeland, that will be at the game that day. Lunch, 2 drink tickets, and other special activities will be included.

Tickets are limited and will not be available to mail until July.

You know what Katrina did to devastate New Orleans and you've been meaning to do something to help, but what?

Here is your chance to make a REAL difference in the lives of those in Louisiana. Lakeland College is planning a mission trip to do disaster recovery work in New Orleans from Oct. 26-Nov. 1, 2008. Join fellow Lakeland alumni, faculty and staff for an opportunity to join in
fellowship and make a difference.

Participants will help rebuild homes in New Orleans with a disaster recovery work group sponsored by the South Central Conference Program of the United Church of Christ.
