- ABOUT LAKELAND

Given our legacy as a college of the church, the moral and spiritual development of our students continues to be an important aspect of the Lakeland College experience. Over the past few years, up to 20 students (per year) have participated in the Alternative Spring Break and have gone to Wyoming, Tennessee, Kentucky and Louisiana to work on Habitat builds. The most significant cost of the experience is transportation to and from the build site. This is also a limiting factor in how many students can participate. Securing funds for transportation in a motor coach would allow more students to participate in the build. Students raise money to cover lodging, meals and fees that support Habitat for Humanity.
