Lakeland College’s Exercise Science and Sport Studies bachelor’s degree provides interested students with comprehensive preparation for graduate study in physical therapy. College students who plan to become physical therapists must earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (DPT), which has become the required degree to enter this increasingly popular – and competitive – field. Tonight will be special for Marybeth Jacoby, a 1995 graduate of Lakeland’s Evening, Weekend and Online program. Jacoby, the news director at WLTX in Columbia, S.C., led an investigative team that won a 2015 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award for Outstanding Local Television Investigative Reporting. Daniel David Black, Lakeland College assistant professor of music and director of choral activities, served as the guest conductor at last weekend’s Eastern Wisconsin Conference high school concert in New Holstein. Black, accompanied by pianist and Lakeland grad Thomas Pibal, worked with honors choir singers from Campellsport, Kiel, New Holstein, Sheboygan Falls, Two Rivers and Waupun high schools.
