The Aviation Advisory Board at Lakeland College is made up of individuals from different segments of the aviation industry. These individuals work together with Lakeland’s administration to shape the courses and plan of the aviation program. The participants of the board are integrally involved within the aviation industry and keep the college abreast on current industry practices, news, and requirements. In partnership with these professionals, Lakeland’s aviation program aims for the highest academic levels and addresses changes with the demands of the industry.

Greg Cayon received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanics in 1986. He served for nearly ten years as a Presidential Pilot for Air Force One, transporting the president and first family of the United States. Today, Greg is the Chief Pilot and Director of Aviation and Business Travel at Kohler Company in Kohler, Wisconsin.

John Dorcey holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate, flight and ground instructor certificates, A & P mechanic certificate, and an Inspection Authorization. He was an aviation consultant for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for 22 years and is on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame. John is currently the Operations Manager at Winnebago County’s Wittman Regional Airport and is a 2009 graduate of Lakeland College.

Rose Dorcey has been a private pilot for over 15 years and holds an instrument rating. She is an editor for the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) and owns her own aviation marketing business — Skyword Communications. Rose is a board member of the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame and a 2009 graduate of Lakeland College.

Christopher H. James has been a captain flying with American Airlines for the past 26 years. He also serves in American's flight training department, having spent seven years as a check-airman on the Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft, both of which he pilots on international and domestic routes. Chris got his start in aviation at the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport as a flight instructor and charter pilot with Chaplain Aviation. Chris lives in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He is a 1984 Lakeland College graduate.

Jeremy M. Keyes is currently serving as a KC-135R pilot with the Ohio Air National Guard’s 121st Air Refueling Wing. He has also served in the Pennsylvania and Wisconsin Air National Guards. Jeremy is also familiar with commercial aviation operations as he was the Airport Station Manager for Continental Express Airlines in Madison, Wisconsin. Jeremy is a 2002 graduate of Lakeland College.

Seth Minster received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy and graduated in 1979 with a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering. After serving as a pilot and commander in the U.S. Air Force, in 1987 he began his commercial aviation career with Pan American World Airways and then moved to United Airlines. Today, he is a United Airlines copilot flying a Boeing 777. Seth is active in the local chapter of the Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) and the Aviation Heritage Center in Sheboygan.

Brian Morgan is the Co-Founder, President & CEO of Morgan Aircraft LLC. He is a mechanical engineer with a background in aeronautical design and technology. He holds an airframe and power plant technician certificate as well as a private pilot license. His passion for flight safety and love for aviation has culminated into Morgan’s disruptive technology now known as the “EM-J” vertical take-off and landing business/utility jet. Brian is active in his church community and is a member of the Aviation Heritage Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

Laurie Probst is an advanced ground school instructor at Stein Aircraft Services in Waukesha as well as the Fly Girls coordinator for her local Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) chapter. She holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and flight and ground instructor certificates (CFII). Laurie received a master’s degree in education from Caroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin in 2003.

Sherwood “Woody” Williams, Ph.D. is a certified Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) examiner, holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol, and since 2006 has been the Wisconsin Wing Director of Aerospace Education (DAE). He also holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and flight and ground instructor certificates (CFII). He founded CAVU Aviation Flight Training Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin and in 2005 established its bachelor’s degree in aviation sciences program. Mr. Williams earned a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1980.
