Wayne Homstad

Dr. Wayne Homstad, Associate Professor of Education, joined the faculty in 2003. Prior to coming to Lakeland, Homstad was an English teacher in the Sheboygan Area School District for 36 years. His current research activity is gathering information about current trends and practices in graduate programs in education. Homstad is also active in the community, participating in the efforts of the First United Lutheran Church and the National Ski Patrol. In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, bicycling, and skiing.

Mehraban Khodavandi

Dr. Mehraban Khodavandi, Education Division Chair and Professor of Education and Psychology, has been a member of the faculty since 1981. Khodavandi earned his doctorate from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. His commitment to teaching has been recognized with such awards as the Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award, Outstanding Professor of the Year, and Alumni Association Outstanding Faculty Member Award. He is also the Director of the M.Ed. Program and the Coordinator of Alternative Teacher Certification Program through Milwaukee Teacher Education Center (MTEC).

Barbara Sands

John Yang

Dr. John Yang, Associate Professor of Education, joined the faculty in 2004. He teaches courses in mathematics teaching techniques, science teaching techniques, and educational technology. As a former public and private school teacher, he is interested in developing teachers who will be able to meet the demands of tomorrow's diverse students. Beyond academics, John enjoys playing soccer and volleyball and spending time with his family. He and his wife are the proud parents of three children: Ella, Norah, and Ian.
