April Arvan

April A. Arvan, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Exercise Science and Sport Studies, joined the faculty full-time in 2007, though she taught part-time at the college for many years. She is also an alumna of Lakeland. Students may be interested to know that Arvan formerly coached the Lakeland's women's basketball team. In fact, she holds the distinction of the college's all-time wins leader in women's basketball with an overall record of 266-84. In her spare time, Arvan enjoys volunteering in the community, traveling, golfing, and biking.

Kelly Quick

Kelly Quick brings an informed, passionate approach to Lakeland's exercise science program. A member of Lakeland's faculty since 2008, Kelly encourages students to delve beyond the obvious, and a growing number of her students are submitting their research for conferences and publications. Dr. Quick is especially interested in strength and conditioning for collegiate athletes, a subject that she has presented on extensively. Kelly is also a committed volunteer, focusing on community outreach both for her own benefit and to tie the college and its students to the greater community. She is an avid golfer, and loves to talk about her beloved Chicago Bears and hockey.
