Japanese Language Instruction

Study Abroad Students

Program participants are encouraged to enroll in a credit-bearing Japanese language course. This course is taught by a native speaker of Japanese and is designed to help students make the most of the opportunities to learn Japanese while living in Tokyo. Tutoring is also available to help students meet the requirements of this course.

General Studies and Other Courses

Lakeland College Japan offers a liberal arts curriculum that allows students to meet a variety of course requirements while participating in the program. Of special interest to overseas students is our Asian Studies, and cross cultural studies curriculum (Eastern Religion Traditions, US-Japan Relations, and History of Asia). These courses are offered on a rotating basis, and allow students to focus their studies on East Asia while living in Japan.
