- ABOUT LAKELAND

The Career Development Office invites faculty members to partner with us and provide relevant career related information to our students. By partnering in such opportunities, you help students better understand the value of their liberal arts education and how to prepare for the working environment. Below is a brief listing of the services we have to to offer with faculty members in mind!
DON'T CANCEL CLASS If you know in advance that you will need to be out of the classroom, please consider contacting us as an alternative for your students. We would like to help you best utilize the class time to provide students with information on a variety of topics. We can present for an entire class period or just part of it. Please complete this form and we will be sure to contact you. So, keep us in mind the next time you need to be away from campus! Topics of interest include: majors/career exploration, internship opportunities, job search techniques, dressing in the workplace, resume/cover letter writing, interviewing skills, job fair preparation, graduate school, personality assessments, etc.
CLASS ASSIGNMENTS As part of your course requirements, if you would like students to complete a resume, cover letter, or any other project career related, please give us a call and we can help coordinate that process with you. We would like to meet with students individually to review their specific needs and concerns. We can also keep in contact with you to ensure that everyone has met your expectations. Consider adding a career componet in your classroom!
INTERNSHIP ADVISORS If you are working with a student to do an internship, please also advise them to make a stop at the Career Development Office. It is necessary that they complete paperwork in order to earn academic credit. Learn more with our Internship Guide.
REFERENCE REQUESTS If you need to write a letter of reference for one of your students and are not sure where to begin, check out these links, from the National Association of Colleges and Employers, for tips of the trade!
