Greeks Raise Money for Luekemia & Lymphoma Society

Student Life - posted on 10/10/2006

During "Rush Week" last week at Lakeland College, the Lakeland Greeks organized a Penny War between their six social chapters and a party in the pub, where they sold green and purple glowsticks

A total of $335.81 was raised and donated to Lindsey Morden, Hall Director of Muelhmeier Hall, who will be running in the Chicago La Salle Bank Marathon on Oct. 23 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training, which is the world's largest endurance sports training program.

"The Greeks have been really amazing with helping me raise money for such a good cause," said Morden, who has watched many of her family members struggle with cancer.

Morden has raised $1,922 thus far, but her goal is to raise $2,300 in donations that will be used for leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma research and patient services.

"Any amount is appreciated, whether it is thoughts or prayers or thousands of dollars," said Morden.

Anyone interested in making a donation, contact Lindsey Morden at mordenl@lakeland.edu
