Theatre lovers can enjoy 'Dinner and a Show' at Lakeland

Student Life - posted on 2/19/2010

The Lakeland College Theatre Department is teaming up with the college's dining services to launch Dinner and a Show, a new experience promising an enjoyable night out for theatre lovers.

Prior to Lakeland's March 27 performance of the Broadway and big screen smash "Chicago," guests can get a preview of the show during an elegant dinner at the college's David and Valerie Black Room.

Following the dinner, which begins at 5:45 p.m., guests will be escorted to the Bradley Theatre for the 7:30 p.m. show. Tickets are $40 per person which includes dinner and a prime seat to that evening's performance.

During dinner, a few members of the cast will drop in for a song or two, and the show's director, Charlie Krebs, the college's assistant professor of theatre, will provide a special preview of the show just for dinner guests.

"'Chicago' is a hot show, and the college has some really talented students who are having a great time with it in rehearsals," Krebs said. "We've got an elaborate stage setup and lighting design planned. We're hoping to get more people out to the college for an evening of great entertainment."

Seating is limited at the dinner. Contact Deb Fale at (920) 565-1536 to purchase your tickets for the dinner and show. If you are only buying tickets for the play, the cost is $15 per person. "Chicago" opens at Lakeland on Thursday, March 25, and runs through Sunday, March 28. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday.
