Cathy Moore, a veteran of higher education and career services work, has been named director of Lakeland Colleges Madison Center, 3591 Anderson St.
Moore comes to Lakeland from UW-Madison where she served as both assistant and later associate director of MBA Career Services since August of 2004.
She previously worked as an assistant and later associate director in the Career Management Center at Old Dominion University for three years, and was a senior field representative for City Colleges of Chicago Europe in Italy for two years. During her time with City Colleges of Chicago, she established and managed higher education centers all over Europe and the Middle East.
Were thrilled to have someone with Cathys wide range of experience to tackle the challenge of making our Madison Center a more vibrant presence in southwestern Wisconsin, said Allan Mitchler, Lakelands vice president of enrollment management.
I am very excited about working with the rest of the team to help the Madison Center reach its full potential, Moore said. She emphasizes the importance of student input in the future success of the Madison Center. I want the students to feel they not only have a voice, but that it will be heard and appreciated. Moore also plans to strengthen the relationships between Madison Area Technical College, local businesses, community agencies, and Madison Center alumni to promote programs and increase enrollments.
Moore has a bachelors degree in communication studies from Western Illinois University, a bachelors in psychology from the University of West Florida and a master of education in adult and higher education from the University of Oklahoma.
In her spare time, Moore enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and eight-year-old son, reading a good fiction book, and traveling as much as possible.
