Lakeland College women's tennis players Erica Hoffmann (Jr.-Sheboygan Falls, Wis.) and Brittany Jurek (Jr.-Gladstone, Mich.) are this week's Muskie of the Week award winners.
Hoffmann and Jurek both had excellent weeks at singles play for the Muskies last week. Hoffmann finished with a 4-0 record in matches at No. 4 singles against Wisconsin Lutheran, Mount Mary, Aurora and Benedictine (Ill.), including Lakeland's lone win in the match against Northern Athletics Conference favorite Wisconsin Lutheran. Jurek finished 3-1 on the week at No. 5 singles, with her lone loss coming when an injury forced her to retire from her match against Wisconsin Lutheran's Kendall Bonnin despite winning the first set 6-3.
Hoffmann and Jurek also had a strong week at No. 2 singles, finishing with a 3-1 record including a pair of close wins against NAC rivals Aurora and Benedictine. For the season the duo is 4-2 at No. 2 doubles with its losses coming against conference powers Wisconsin Lutheran and Edgewood.
