Associate professor of theatre & communication
Charlie Krebs, who has directed more than 40 plays and acted in more than a dozen around the nation, orchestrates nearly all facets of Lakeland's theatre program. He is also an expert in the area of public speaking.
Krebs earned his Master of Fine Arts in directing from Southern Illinois University in 2000 after completing his MA in acting from the University of New Orleans in 1983 and his bachelor's in scenic and lighting design from the State University of New York in 1977.
A member of Lakeland's faculty since 2007, Krebs teaches acting, public speaking, interpersonal communication and set construction, advises the "Theatricians" (Lakeland's drama club) and manages the Bradley Theatre. He especially enjoys teaching sword fighting and dialects. He is a motivational speaker and CEO of Communication Arts, which focuses on training in business communications.
