Emeritus Professor of Business Administration
J. Garland Schilcutt, who has taught at Lakeland for more than five decades, holds the distinction of being the college's longest-tenured faculty member. He earned his master's degree in business education administration in 1952 and his bachelor's degree in accounting in 1951 from Indiana University.
Schilcutt has taught more than a dozen classes at Lakeland and has chaired eight departments, divisions or committees in addition to developing curriculum for numerous classes.
Among his many awards, Schilcutt recently received the college's highest honor, the Doctor of Humane Letters degree.
