The following guide is designed to help you learn how to effectively research. Each tab  is devoted to a step in the research process.

The Seven Steps

Step 1. Develop Your Topic-- Scholarship is about joining a conversation. This tab will help you pick a topic area and generate a good research question. 

Step 2. Search Strategies--Research can be quite a journey, you'll need some good keywords before you start.

Step 3. Types of Sources--As you search, it's important to know the different types of sources and when you'll need them. 

Step 4. Finding Books--Here you'll learn how to locate and request books nearby and faraway. 

Step 5. Finding Articles--Here you'll learn the quickest and most surefire way to find great articles on your topic. 

Step 6. Using the Web--Before you spend countless hours surfing the internet for information, learn how to evaluate your sources. 

Step 7. Citing Sources--APA? MLA? Here you'll learn the importance of citing your information the right way.
