Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses has partnered with Road America to run the concession stand at turn 12 for the upcoming racing season.

Launch’s concession stand is located off the track, but with track access. The stand will be open Fridays from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on the following dates:

  • June 5-6
  • June 12-13
  • June 18-20
  • July 2-4
  • July 16-18
  • August 6-8

Hungry fans will find pulled pork sandwiches and pork belly bites with our special bourbon chipotle BBQ sauce. Other fan-favorite food and drinks for breakfast, lunch and dinner include pancake bites, French toast sticks, cheeseburgers, brats, nachos, churros, ice cream, a variety of beer and non-alcoholic beverages (including Starbucks coffee) and more.

LU Dining Services created the menu, while RA Concession Manager Samantha Damrow, a Launch team member, handled ordering and pre-race weekend arrangements.

Damrow, a junior majoring in education, has been working for dining services as a student lead. In her role as concession stand manager, she leads facets including menu, finances and hiring students. This summer, she will manage student workers at the concession stand during the races.

Proceeds will benefit Launch and its programming. Fans who plan to be at Road America this summer are encouraged to stop by and support Launch and Lakeland’s student entrepreneurs.

Launch is one of just three student-run business ventures at the collegiate level in Wisconsin. It offers unparalleled experiential learning and small business management opportunities by empowering students to create, develop, manage and lead business ventures, helping them develop into the next generation of emerging leaders and entrepreneurs.

Road America is one of a handful of road circuits in the world maintaining its original configuration of four miles in length and 14 turns. The track features many elevation changes, along with a long front stretch where speeds can approach 200 miles per hour. Road America's open seating allows spectators to venture throughout the grounds, which can accommodate more than 150,000 visitors.
